The Revelations of Arran Nak beautifully continued the story line begun in
The Crystal Skulls.
Visser adeptly pulls the reader into his created world through complex but likeable characters and a
fast paced story line. This book is really four in one - it is a fantasy tale that includes a love story,
a coming of age book, and a mystery novel. It includes war, bravery, betrayal, ultimate friendship,
the supernatural, and suspense. I found myself staying up late to read the next chapter!

An Unusual Book Review: I feel obligated to tell you that Jan Visser is a friend of mine,
and that my review may be slightly biased. But that's not what makes this review
'unusual'.
What makes this an unusual book review, I'm slightly embarrassed to
say, is that I'm really not much of a reader. Now don't get me wrong,
I can read, and I do read. It's just that most of the books in my
library are technically oriented books. Books on computer programming
languages, card magic technique, croquet, and, oh yes, computer
programming languages.
But now, because of reading Jan's books, all that has changed. I now,
am actually reading for pleasure. It used to be that every night I'd
do a bit of web surfing, and then TiVo myself to sleep. But, since
reading 'The Crystal Skulls' Part I of The Revelations Saga I now
leave time to read for at least an hour every night. I have even
expanded my reading to include fiction!
I attribute this awakening to Jan's books being so exciting and
intriguing. I read his first book over the Christmas holiday one
year, and it's a good thing I was off work, because I couldn't put it
down. The story quickly had me spellbound.
I became attached to the characters and wondered and worried about
their fates. I entered their world -- which is perhaps one of the
highest compliments possible to give an author. Jan made me believe
in, and care about, the characters, their world, and their unfolding
drama.
Jan's second book, The Revelations of Arran Nak, was as compelling as
his first. Once again, I was only able to part with the book long
enough to eat and sleep. Jan tells me that his third book of The
Revelations Saga is soon to be published. (He can't write them fast
enough as far as I am concerned.) With each succeeding Visser book, I
know that I will again be transported to a unique place and time,
where the characters that I've come to love will be working their
magic on me.
Looking for a compelling read? Then, Jan Visser is the author for you!"
